Description
Plötulopi is an unspun (not twisted) yarn made from 100% Icelandic new wool. It is loosely wound in slab form. Unknitted is very fragile and the fibres break quickly. It's best to wind it onto a ball - that way you can knit with it more easily and take it with you when you travel.
Plötulopi is usually knitted in two or three strands. The knitted fabric is light and beautifully airy, but still very robust. Traditionally, jumpers are knitted from Plötulopi Island. It is very suitable for all kinds of colourwork, but also when knitted separately, this yarn comes into its own.
